Lion Dance

We have go through a lots on this assignment, finally we done our presentation yesterday. It was fun and amazing.

We know the history of lion dance, the types of lion dance, the transformation of it and etc.

After doing all those paperworks,we went to Department of Student Affairs to require see whether we can borrow the lion dance or not. The officer is very friendly, he called the WuShu Club chairperson to open the store for us to borrow the lion dance.

The lion dance was abit spoiled and dirty, after we reached home, we decided to make it clean and nice. So my team members buy some poster colors and some rope to fix it. Then we started to wipe it and clean it. After we clean it,we started to use the colors to color those part already spoiled to cover it up.

Afterwards, we started to watch online on how to use the lion dance and the movement of dancing. We still not clear on it, so we find a guy,Roshan to teach us. He was busy but he free at night so we learn at night. It was tired and fun even though I am not that one who be the lion dancers but I practiced with them know how difficulty is the lion dance and how heavy is it.

In this presentation, I am a "Nian" monster but actually in real life I scare the lion dance, I scared the eyes that looked at me. So while I practice I really face the difficulty, this is because I got to face the things that I fear. I fear those lion dance which is moving, but while is not moving I am not fear on it. Every year lion dance come to my house,I will start to hide myself because I scare to interact with the lion dance. Throughout this presentation, I learned how to overcome it even though I scared.

Appreciate that Dr Carmen and Miss Ezzati gave a good chances in learning different kind of Malaysia culture.

Below is some photos that we clean the lion dance:
